The Philadelphia Museum of Art has all of those lovely display cases of colored perfume bottles and other glass items. They mirror the backside of them for an interesting effect. I took this photo with my little pocket Canon a couple of years ago. I was surprised to discover my reflection in the background when I looked at the photo later. I figured that since the Philadelphia Museum of Art went with a picture of a glass case a lot like the one I captured that day, it merited posting my own photo… complete with a cameo appearance!
Indeed it does! Thanks for sharing. These actually aren’t perfume bottles - although they look like it. They’re Chinese snuff bottles made from materials including glass, porcelain, gourds, seeds, and stones. Each one tells a story! See them in Gallery 236, or get an online sampling at http://www.philamuseum.org/galleries/AsianArt#snuff
